Individual Counseling for children, adolescents, and adults addresses challenges with anxiety, depression, social and communication difficulties, life transitions, and other specific needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is often combined with Solution-Focused Therapy for success with both short and long term goals.
Strategic Parent Counseling is designed according to the needs of each individual parent and family, offering support for the challenges inherent in raising a child on the Autism Spectrum. Hands on activities may include the creation of daily schedules, positive behavior management charts, and other tools to help the child, the parent, and the family be successful.
Consultation Services are offered as professional, clinical, and educational consultation to agencies, schools, and other groups. Expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disabilities can be offered in the form of training, intervention development and implementation, among other unique services tailored to the needs of the group. Arrangements for both local and distance travel are possible.
Clinical Assessment is offered for a variety of mental health and behavioral health needs for children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Spencer has been trained in the use of many clinical and diagnostic assessments, including the gold standard in Autism diagnosis, Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale (ADOS-2) and Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI-R). A full assessment process is tailored to the needs of each individual and may include one or two intake sessions, one or two assessment sessions, interpretation and report writing, and a final session to review the report and recommendations.
